FAQs
Answers to (in)frequently asked questions …
Why can’t I comment on any of your old posts?
My blog automatically closes comments on posts after 30 days. I chose this setting because otherwise I get overwhelmed by the spam comments, and also because most of my readers seem more inclined to interact with me via email or twitter – which is great, I’m better at emailing and tweeting! It seemed silly to keep them open indefinitely when the majority of comments I get in general, and especially on old posts, come from spambots.
You can use the contact form to send me an email, or just tweet at me.
Would you be interested in receiving products from our company for a review and/or giveaway?
In general, I do not accept free products to review for the sake of getting free stuff. I make exceptions for products I’m genuinely interested in or companies I want to work with. If you think your product might be a good fit, please contact me to discuss.
What kind of camera do you use?
My current camera is a Nikon D5100 dSLR that I bought refurbished in 2013. Previous to that, I used a Nikon D40 which was a Christmas gift from my in-laws. But honestly, these days I take most of pictures with my iPhone.
I switch back and forth between a couple of lenses:
My very favorite all-around lens is a Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6.
For smaller subjects including food, I use a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens.
Why don’t you review every book you read?
As a rule, I don’t think it’s worth my time writing or your time reading to post reviews of books that I don’t like and about which I have less-than-great things to say. I’m reading so much at this point in time that even if I only wrote reviews of books I really liked, I wouldn’t have time to write posts about anything else! I write a book review every month or so, which lets me review the books about which I have a lot to say and that I think will be of interest to my readers.
