Maple Chipotle Roasted Nuts

Maple Chipotle Roasted Nuts

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups raw nuts – I went with half cashews, half almonds
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp chipotle powder
1 tsp chili powder
Salt & pepper, to taste

Here’s what you’ll do:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Place nuts in a medium bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, combine maple syrup, chipotle and chili powders. Drizzle the mixture over nuts. Stir to coat. Add salt and pepper – enough to suit your taste buds.
  4. Spread nuts on a lined baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

Eat as a snack, or grind in your food processor until you’ve made a flavored (and slightly spicy) nut butter.

Note: I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spiciness, so my recipe is fairly mild. Feel free to use additional chipotle powder, and decrease the chili powder, if you prefer a spicier snack.
