Welcome 2013

January 2, 2013 By jennie

I failed to get this posted yesterday due to technical difficulties, but here’s wishing you a happy New Year!

I hope your year is off to a pleasant start and that you enjoyed an evening of celebration. Ours was mellow but fun – card games and a 3-D movie with friends. I made chuck roast, garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables as our last meal of 2012 and it was a big hit.

Then headed to the yoga studio yesterday morning for a practice to say goodbye to the old year and set the intention for the new.

I always enjoy making New Year’s resolutions, and these are just a few of mine for 2013:

  1. read 13 classic novels in 2013. I have a shelf full of classic novels that I’ve always meant to read but haven’t gotten around to – this year I plan to actually plow through them. Also, I’ve been spending a little too much time recently watching TV or clicking around online and want to use my downtime for more scholarly pursuits.
  2. carry my camera everywhere. I think my photography skills have improved a ton in the past year, and I want to keep practicing and just take more pictures in general. Tough to do if my camera’s in a bag at home, right? I’m coveting these Jo Totes camera purses, but for now will just use my camera bag as a purse.
  3. plan a wedding and get married. I keep getting questions like do we have a date set, have I picked out a dress …? Nope, we haven’t determined a thing. Need to get on that.

So those are the big ones for this year. I’m still optimistic that my blogging will pick up, but we’ll see where the year takes us.

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions this year?
